GROUp video log - how did it go?
A little while after we shot our horror movie trailers, we were given the opportunity to come together as a group and openly discuss how filming went. This was helpful as it gave us all an opportunity to speak out about the whole project and think about all the things we still need to do.
Shooting script - call sheets
It was essential for us to be prepared for our shooting day. We found that by filling out these call sheets, we were organised and ready on the day of shooting with a clear idea of what needed to be done. Here, we separated our shots by location and listed what we will need in terms of cast members, equipment and props. We brought these to college on shooting day and followed them when shooting and this helped as it ensured that we did not miss out anything or waste time on location.

some behind-the-scenes reflections and photographs
It was good to have the entire college to ourselves as we were able to transform the staff room into our desired setting. This involved moving around furniture, adding certain props etc. We used one corner of the staff room as our lounge and the kitchen. This was useful as we could shoot two locations without having to leave this part of the college.
|
The kitchen scene was interesting to film as we ended up last minute deciding to try filming from inside of the fridge. This created a certain sense of intimacy when dealing with Alethia's death scene and increased the tension in our trailer. We felt that this was very experimental and unique of us to try.
|
The danger of using the college's staff room as part of our trailer was that we didn't do any damage to the place. We carefully dealt with fake blood and made sure that it did not stain the floor before shooting. After the death scene was successfully shot, we took responsibility for cleaning up after ourselves and we left the staff room as we found it.
